Already transparent? Keep the original
Place the PNG over a dark surface in an image editor. If the subject appears without a rectangle, it may already contain transparency. Reprocessing a good cutout is unnecessary and may change its edges.

A white rectangle is still a background
PNG supports alpha, but it can also hold a completely opaque photograph. Upload the file to separate the subject and inspect the result. Exporting a JPG as PNG alone does not remove its white backdrop.
Watch for a baked-in checkerboard
Some downloaded previews include a gray grid in the actual image. Segmentation may not remove every square around fine details. Review the output and use manual correction where possible; complex artwork may need a different editing method.
Diagnose a PNG that still has a background
PNG is a file format, not a guarantee of transparency. The logo and product examples help separate an opaque rectangle, an existing alpha channel and a checkerboard that has been saved into the image itself.

Before you export
Keep an original transparent file when it is already correct. Running segmentation again is not a lossless PNG conversion or a vector-tracing operation.

Why does my PNG show white?
It may contain white pixels, or your viewer may display transparent pixels on white. Try a different preview background to tell the difference.
Does PNG conversion remove the background?
No. Conversion changes the file format. Background removal separates the subject and creates transparent areas.
Is the result upscaled?
No. Download sizes refer to the processed result. They do not promise extra detail or lossless enlargement.
